What is new in Edge 4.1?

Edge 4.1 is the newest release of the leading Nordic financial market data and trading display. With a completely new and lightning-fast Search Engine, a range of new Charting and Visualization Tools, and built-in support for Twitter, Edge 4.1 marks a difference and provides its users with a clear information advantage. Improved charts

With a range of new chart types, styles and studies, the ability to trade directly from the charts, and a much improved user interface, Edge 4.1 takes real-time financial market data visualization to an entirely new level.

  • New chart types Heikin-Ashi, Point & Figure, Kagi, Renko and Line Break.
  • New time series with Return Series, Target Price and Amounts on indices. Also 2-5 minute sample rates
  • A condensed styling dialogue with options for gradient/multi color filling and current price indicator.
  • In the analysis section a LAG formula and a Target Price (high, low, mean) overlay have been added.
  • Improved drawing tools including Vertical line with date, Horizontal line with price, Percent change trend line, new symbols (Square, Triangle, Oval), Arrows, Text box and Call-outs.
  • New navigation options with a fold-out of the first menu level for better overview, new horizontal & vertical zoom.

 

Order management in charts

Edge 4.1 lets you manage your orders in the charts. Any active order is shown in the chart as a horizontal line with price and volume indication. Just drag the order up/down in the chart to do instant order changes.

  • Order entry functionality through buttons in the header.
  • Order modification by drag-and-drop.
  • Optionally when an order is matched a flag is placed on the time series indicating the trade.
  • Average Purchase Price line.

 

Map of the market

The Map of the market is a versatile and powerful tool to instantly visualize market conditions or to screen stocks based on user-selectable criteria.

  • Arrange and resize the tiles by Market Capitalization, number of news articles , or equally sized with a winners/losers perspective.
  • Click the news icon to open news for that company.
  • Group by sector and drill down through the index levels.
  • The heat color can be set to a number of parameters, e.g. % change today or year to date.
  • Set the heat color sensitivity from +/- 1 to 100%.
  • Filter the map by either heat or weight (e.g. Market Cap).
  • Choose from a number of preset color combinations.
  • Save the Map of the market in your workpage and link it to other views as a source.

 

Twitter

Connect Edge to your Twitter account and monitor your timeline in real time without switching applications.

  • The Twitter view shows the last 200 tweets of your timeline.
  • Reply and retweet.
  • Search for users and subjects.
  • Follow/Unfollow.
  • Send direct messages to people following you.

 

OmniSearch

The OmniSearch is a brand new search function for Edge. It allows you to find practically anything in the system from one place. Combine instrument with search words to instantly access specific information. When searching for instruments the all-new Quick View give you the information you need in a single window.

  • Search for instruments, companies, news sources and filters, SIX Telekurs and user defined pages, views, lists and markets.
  • Search for views using common names and wordings, e.g. “COLLAR SEK” for Cap and Floor instruments in SEK.
  • When finding an instrument, the Quick View provides a comprehensive view of the instrument, adapted to different instrument types.

 

Target Price

The new view Target Price view is a part of the SIX Estimates service. Covering over 150 companies in the Nordics it provides both visual and tabular data for SIX Estimates subscribers.

  • Graphical presentation of Price Potential shows how a stock is priced compared to its average target price
  • New columns for Price Potential, Target Price 12M, Estimates % Change and Ratings.
  • View market consensus figures alongside your own data, compare and rank to find the important exceptions and outliers (restricted access).
  • View Target Price overlays in charts.
  • Add Target Price columns to Instrument Lists.

 

More features

  • The order book can now be used as an information source when linking views.
  • In the charts a context menu (right click) is available for the main instrument (leftmost in the list).
  • Move along a time series with right and left arrow keys.
  • Drag the side of the bar at the bottom of the chart to zoom.
  • Option for wrapping news headers

 

Minor changes and corrections

  • The charts and the Performance view now use the same reference dates for their calculations.
  • The RSS service now accepts HTML formatted news items.
  • Calculated currencies and FX Forwards now calculate with USD as base currency instead of EUR.
  • In FX Forwards typing the symbol “/” is no longer needed for currency pairs.
  • In the charts there is now an option to remove the call-out in the middle of the graph showing the price.
  • Corrected an issue where the stop-loss alarm did not draw correctly in charts (but the alarm was triggered as supposted).
  • The order entry panel is opened in advanced mode by default.
